Dr Annika Oksa - Veterinarian

Dr Annika knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 3-years old and constantly drawing pictures of horses. Since her graduation from Murdoch University in Perth in 2005 Dr Annika has completed an internship at Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre, and a residency in Veterinary Pathology at Murdoch University. Dr Annika has also completed further training in ultrasound and medical oncology. Her other veterinary passion is canine reproduction, and she has been breeding and showing her own Pharaoh Hounds and Portuguese Podengos very successfully in Australia and overseas.
Currently Dr Annika is completing a PhD through the University of Queensland researching canine cancer vaccines, and sees patients on a part-time basis at Murrumba Downs.
When not busy with research and work, Dr Annika enjoys spending time with her two children and her dogs. She also manages to squeeze in time to teach group fitness classes in Dayboro!
Amanda Barker - Practice Manager

Amanda is a qualified veterinary nurse. She has done a bit of everything in her career from nursing in a specialist small animal hospital, emergency clinic and general practice clinics. She found her love in general practice where she has been able to make bonds with clients and pets that have spanned her career.
Amanda is passionate about ensuring our clients are given the information and tools they need be able to care for their pets and keep them healthy and happy fur kids for life.
Her special interests are behavior, emergency medicine, surgical nursing, reproduction and neonate care.
She joined our clinic four years ago as our surgery nurse and is now the Practice Manager of our clinic, offering over 20 years of experience and knowledge to our team.
When not at work Amanda can be found exploring one of the many dog friendly SE Queensland beaches with her rottweiler Slam or riding her stockhorse Digger.

Tanika Maynard - Senior Veterinary Nurse

Tanika has completed her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing and has spent the past 3 years working at Murrumba Downs Vet. Her interests include neonatal, internal medicine, surgery and emergency medicine.
Tanika has a German Shepherd named Duke and a rescue cat with a very grumpy face named Nova.
When Tanika is not at work, she can be found studying to further her skills and interests, exploring new places and trying exciting new foods.

Rebecca Grieve - Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Becky is currently working towards becoming a veterinary nurse and has been pursuing this career since a young age. She started with us completing work experience and since then become a more permanent member of our clinic. Outside of work Becky can be found looking after her Golden Retriever Ned and seeking out the best brunch spots.
